Job summary

Dow Jones is seeking an experienced newspaper press operator to manage nightly press operations for Dow Jones publications at the White Oak, Maryland facility. You will operate and maintain presses and related equipment to produce high-quality print editions while controlling costs and ensuring safety.

The role requires 4–5 years of press experience, physical stamina for long shifts, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of newspaper press experience.
• Ability to stand for 7.25 hours and lift 50 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Prefer experience in cold web offset newspaper printing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare presses for nightly operation of Dow Jones publications.
• Operate presses to improve Production Quality Score (reproduction quality, content freshness, productivity, materials usage).
• Maintain open communication with supervisor and team to meet department goals.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Meet performance standards and attend training.
