Dow Jones’ Print Operations team in White Oak, MD operates newspaper press lines for The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Investor’s Business Daily and New York Post. You will perform daily press operations, maintain equipment, and ensure high-quality, cost-efficient production from setup to finish.

The role requires 4–5 years of press experience, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and physical ability to handle demanding shifts. Non‑union, comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of newspaper press experience.
• Able to stand 7.25 hours, lift 50 lbs, kneel, bend, reach overhead, climb stairs and ladders.
• High School Graduate/GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Good color perception and mechanically inclined.
• Experience in production environment, preferably cold web offset printing.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in business PC applications and press controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare presses for nightly operation and Dow Jones publications.
• Operate presses to improve Production Quality Score (quality, freshness, productivity, cost).
• Maintain open communication with supervisor and colleagues to reach department goals.
• Assist in training of new employees.
• Meet performance standards and attend training.
• Follow all corporate and plant policies/practices.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Set equipment maintenance priorities with production manager.
• Set up pasters, web presses, color registration, and clean/maintain equipment.
• Meet customer expectations for quality, freshness, and productivity while controlling costs.
