Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Sr. Principal Device Validation Engineer to lead device readiness and validation activities for our direct-to-device wireless broadband service. You will partner with chipset makers, OEMs, and operators to ensure devices certify and perform to the highest standards.

The role requires deep mobile device and modem expertise, strong customer-facing skills, and a track record of driving validation programs from lab to field and through commercial launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own device validation strategy for operator onboarding programs and compatibility tracking.
• Lead lab and field validation for commercial devices including connectivity, throughput, latency, and user experience testing.
• Resolve device/interoperability issues with chipset vendors and device manufacturers.
• Serve as technical lead during customer workshops, testing events, and reviews.
• Define device readiness criteria, acceptance standards, and launch requirements.
• Analyze logs and RF measurements to identify root causes and drive fixes.
• Maintain device matrices and certification documentation.
• Develop technical reports and readiness assessments for stakeholders.
• Support field trials and commercial launch readiness activities.
