Job summary

AST SpaceMobile in Dallas seeks a Senior Director of Device Validation to own the validation of devices that connect to the SpaceMobile network. This leader defines strategy, runs lab and in-orbit validation, and manages OEM and chipset vendor relationships to certify devices for MNO launch.

Responsibilities include planning satellite pass demand, building a validation lab with emulation, and delivering end-to-end test results across payload, gateway RF and RAN teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred; professional certification in wireless/RF advantageous.
• 15+ years in wireless device validation, certification or RF engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and own device validation strategy, test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Lead OEM validation with smartphone vendors to resolve device defects.
• Lead MNO device acceptance and certification with operator partners.
• Maintain device compatibility record across devices, OS and modem versions.
• Plan satellite pass demand and drive efficient use of passes.
• Build lab, emulation and automation to maximize value of each pass.
• Lead in-orbit testing from lab to production with cross-functional teams.
• Characterize device behavior under non-terrestrial conditions and feed R&D.
• Establish device performance KPIs and provide executive-ready reports.
