Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a Sr. Principal Device Validation Engineer to lead readiness and validation for direct-to-device wireless services. You will coordinate validation with chipset vendors, OEMs, and operators to ensure devices perform across the SpaceMobile network.

You will mentor teams, develop readiness criteria, and drive certification programs for commercial launches, including field testing and proof-of-concept activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (EE/Telecom/CS)
• Master's degree preferred in Engineering/Telecommunications
• 12+ years in mobile device validation, certification, or wireless testing

Responsibilities

• Own device validation strategy for operator onboarding and certification tracking
• Lead lab and field validation for commercial devices including connectivity and throughput
• Collaborate with chipset vendors and device OEMs to resolve issues
• Lead customer workshops, testing events, and technical reviews
• Define readiness criteria, test methodologies, and launch requirements
• Analyze modem logs, RF measurements, and performance data to identify root causes
• Manage device defect lifecycle from identification to resolution
• Maintain device compatibility matrices and certification documentation
• Develop technical reports and executive summaries with recommendations
• Partner with internal teams to improve validation processes and onboarding activities
• Support field trials and beta deployments
• Mentor teams on device behavior and troubleshooting
