Job summary
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Structural Engineer in Roy, UT to support the Sentinel program. The role focuses on advanced structural analysis using metals, composites and non-metallic materials, delivering robust design and analysis to meet program needs.
You will work with CAD/FE tools, analyze damage tolerance, durability, and design allowables, and communicate complex results to diverse audiences. A strong background in FEM/thermal analysis is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science or STEM required with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s with 6+ years; or PhD with 4+ years.
- US Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with structural analysis and CAD tools for analysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analyses for Sentinel program using metals, composites or non-metallic materials.
- Develop specifications and model structures, loads, and damage tolerance analyses.
- Utilize tools like CATIA, IDEAS or ProEngineer and FE codes to deliver results.
