Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Design Engineer for the Sentinel program based in Roy, UT.

Lead Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical design for facilities and launch centers, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliant design solutions. The role requires multiple disciplines experience, DoD clearance eligibility, and proficiency with design tools.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with 5 years related experience; or a master’s with 3 years (Sr. Principal: 8 years with bach; 6 with master).
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical design for Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.
• Interpret and verify industry standards and codes for deliverables.
• Participate in design/model reviews and review subcontractor designs for compliance.
• Support delivery of facility design Technical Data Packages and IFCs.
• Develop and present design change requests and manage configuration control.
• Identify risks and opportunities and mitigation actions.
• Ensure facility designs meet UFC, MIL-STD, and other codes.
