Job summary

RTX’s BBN Technologies unit seeks a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to lead and contribute to advanced software projects. You will develop in Java and Python, engage with customers, and help shape technical directions across research teams.

The role requires a DoD Top Secret clearance, senior-level expertise, and strong collaboration with cross-functional groups in a hybrid setup. Expect travel to customer sites and on-site work at locations in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM and 10+ years software development or advanced degree with 7+ years experience.
• 10+ years of Java development.
• 10+ years of Python experience.
• Experience interacting with customers, suppliers, or other organizations.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required.
• Ability to lead complex development efforts.
• Experience estimating software tasks longer than 12 months.
• Android development experience a plus.
• Network programming or computer networking experience a plus.
• JavaScript experience a plus.
• TAK experience a plus.
• AI/ML development skills are a plus.

Responsibilities
