RTX’s BBN Technologies division is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to lead development tasks, interact with customers, and contribute to multiple project teams.

You will prepare reports documenting design, testing, and technical results, while guiding long-term planning and research directions. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, scientists, and customers, with focus on complex software solutions and technical demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years of software development, or Advanced Degree with 7+ years.
• 10+ years of Java development.
• 10+ years of Python experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software using Java and Python.
• Lead complex software development efforts and technical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, customers, and cross-functional teams.
• Support customer engagements, demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
• Develop technical documentation and present project results.
• Estimate development tasks and support long-term project planning.
• Contribute to new and emerging BBN research areas.
