Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer Sr. Principal to guide software design across multiple teams, steer portfolio delivery, and drive adoption of new technologies. You will coordinate with principal engineers and vendors to optimize interoperability and manage cloud costs.

The role supports 4-6 development teams, influences technology roadmaps, and mentors staff while maintaining high standards for delivery and performance. Leadership and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

7+ years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
Expertise in at least two THD IT technologies.
Experience with Agile/Lean development environments.
Experience in retail business processes.

Responsibilities

50% Delivery and Execution - Leads portfolio level Principal meetings to maintain alignment and knowledge sharing; Creates foundational code elements reusable across a portfolio; Develops POCs with new technologies and drives portfolio adoption.
10% People - Mentors and coaches team members; conducts reviews and supports talent development.
15% Strategy and Planning - Defines technology solutions; collaborates on roadmaps; removes roadblocks across large cross-functional projects.
25% Support and Enablement - Escalates high-priority issues; collaborates with project, product, and support teams; works with vendors on feature enhancements.
