Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Systems Engineer Sr. Principal to oversee the development, maintenance, and support of our technical infrastructure across networks, hardware, databases, and system software.

You will lead multiple teams, drive cost optimization, and collaborate with principal software engineers to accelerate delivery and interoperability. You will partner with Distinguished Engineers to shape technology roadmaps, mentor teams, and ensure adoption of best practices while interfacing

Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
7-9 years of relevant work experience.
One of the fields of expertise should include a programming language or a key knowledge in multiple infrastructure domains.

Responsibilities

30% Delivery and Execution - Leads portfolio level Principal meetings to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing; drives build versus buy decisions; develops POCs and tracks resource usage and cost improvements.
20% People - Provides leadership, mentoring and feedback; conducts reviews; attracts and develops top talent; builds associate connections to technology community.
30% Strategy and Planning - Defines technology solutions with engineers; aligns strategies across teams; removes roadblocks; contributes to roadmaps and drives innovation.
20% Support and Enablement - Escalation point for high-priority issues; answers questions; resolves disputes; works with vendors on feature enhancements and tooling adoption.
