Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer Principal to lead the design, development, and lifecycle of store selling systems. You’ll collaborate across UX, engineering, and product teams, while guiding junior engineers and aligning with open-source and vendor ecosystems.

You will define architecture and SLAs, participate in performance tuning, and contribute to automated testing and monitoring to ensure highly available, scalable solutions in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring MVC and modern web frameworks required.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs and cloud platforms preferred.

• Lead delivery and execution of software solutions with cross‑functional teams.
• Document, review, and ensure quality and change control standards.
