Job summary

Amgen seeks a Senior Principal Scientist in Process Development for Bioconjugates, located at either Thousand Oaks, CA or Cambridge, MA. The role leads a multidisciplinary team to develop scalable manufacturing processes for oligonucleotides, drives capacity expansion, and oversees technology transfers to GMP facilities.

You will guide process development strategies, mentor staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory readiness and product quality.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/PharmD with scientific experience; advanced training in oligonucleotide process development preferred.
• Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree with years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in bioconjugate manufacturing and technology transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of chemists and chemical engineers in developing efficient, sustainable manufacturing processes for oligonucleotides.
• Drive capacity expansion projects and oversee technology transfers to GMP production facilities.
• Develop strategies for process performance through modeling and characterization; ensure timely project deliverables and regulatory documentation.
• Support cGMP manufacturing and regulatory filings with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor staff and provide scientific guidance to colleagues across the organization.
• Stay current with bioconjugate manufacturing advances and integrate new methods as appropriate.
