Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a hands-on leader to guide Real-World Evidence projects within a biopharma/healthcare setting. You will mentor team members, define study designs, and deliver analysis-ready data, tables, and figures.

You will collaborate with Data Science Therapeutic Area scientists, apply RWE methodologies, mitigate biases, and support regulatory interactions with study findings.

Qualifications

• PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics.
• Expert coding skills using R, Python, or SAS.
• 5+ years of relevant experience within biopharma companies, RWE consulting firms, or related healthcare industries.
• Extensive hands-on experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis, and statistical methods to mitigate confounding and selection biases.
• Expertise with multiple real-world data sources (EHR, insurance claims, registry data).
• Familiarity with clinical trial data structure.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities

• Be a hands-on scientific and technical leader, managing a portfolio of Real-World Evidence (RWE) projects, developing best practices, and mentoring team members.
• Identify common technical requirements for RWE projects and develop a common suite of tools to accelerate project delivery by RWE data scientists.
• Provide end-to-end expertise in RWE studies, including conceptualizing research questions, data feasibility, study design, analysis, programming, and interpretation.
• Offer leadership and hands-on programming to apply Real-World Data (RWD) methodologies to mitigate observed and unobserved biases in external control arm studies, hybrid control studies, and comparative effectiveness analyses.
• Generate actionable insights from post-hoc RCT analyses, observational databases, and literature reviews to support regulatory agency interactions.
• Independently create study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and deliverables including analysis-ready data, tables and figures.
• Partner with Data Science Therapeutic Area scientists to conceptualize, lead, shape, and deliver Real-World Evidence projects.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. degree in epidemiology or biostatistics.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience within biopharma companies, RWE consulting firms, or related healthcare industries.
• Extensive hands-on experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis, and statistical methods to mitigate confounding and selection biases.
• Expertise with multiple real-world data sources (EHR, insurance claims, registry data).
• Familiarity with clinical trial data structure.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with drug discovery and the clinical development process.
• Subject matter knowledge in oncology, immunology, or neuroscience.
• Experience in regulatory-grade evidence, communicating with and responding to agency reviews and comments.

Salary and benefits: Base pay range is $137,000.00 – $235,750.00 plus eligible benefits. Eligible for retirement, savings plans, and time-off benefits as described by company policies.
