Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Design Engineer for the Radar Mechanical Design Department. The role is onsite in Marlborough, MA or Te wksbury, MA, focusing on leading mechanical development of radar systems and components to meet system requirements.

The ideal candidate brings a STEM degree with at least 10 years of experience in aerospace/defense mechanical design, with expertise in phased arrays, hardware packaging, and CREO.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical design for aerospace or defense.
• Experience with phased arrays, hardware packaging or array integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions across the product life cycle.
• Support program development from early stage to production.
• Lead mechanical development of radar systems and components to meet system requirements.
• Ensure product and process meet standards and requirements.
• Balance risk and cost while advising leadership.
• Communicate decisions clearly with customers and senior teams.
• Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets.
• Work with minimal supervision and set technical objectives.
• Collaborate across program levels and with customers.
• Travel periodically to support collaboration, build, and test hardware.
