Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Sr. Principal R&D Project Manager– Shockwave Medical to join our Santa Clara, CA team. This role leads product development and cross-functional project management across the NPD lifecycle, aligning vision and resources to deliver breakthroughs in medical device technology.

The position emphasizes leadership, risk management, and communication to senior stakeholders, with opportunities to mentor other PMs and drive multiple complex projects from concept to launch.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in science, engineering or business administration or equivalent.
• 12+ years of Medical Device experience with at least 7 years in project management.
• Experience with QSR 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485 and MDR requirements.
• PM training or certification is highly preferred.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives and navigating ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Manage cross-functional activities within the NPD lifecycle.
• Plan, risk-manage, and communicate project status to all levels.
• Establish project strategy and maintain organizational alignment.
• Drive multiple parallel projects with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee all phases from Feasibility to Market Release.
• Publish dashboards and formal communications on progress and risk.
• Mentor other Project Managers in the group.
