Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Manager, R&D – Shockwave Medical for its New Brighton, Minnesota team. You will lead engineering efforts, mentor staff, and drive cross-functional activities from concept to clinical trials and commercial release of innovative IVL-based cardiovascular solutions.

The role requires a strong background in medical device development, design controls, and collaboration with diverse teams to deliver high-quality, compliant products.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in medical device development.
• 3+ years’ experience leading projects in all phases of product development.
• 2+ years’ managing direct reports or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer/tech teams and mentor staff.
• Manage cross-functional project activities from concept through clinical trials and commercial release.
• Oversee catheter design and development.
• Ensure compliance with Design Control, FDA/ISO/MDD requirements.
• Coordinate external vendors and internal stakeholders to meet project milestones.
