- Serve as the AEP Engineering Lead for complex, multidisciplinary generation projects
- Lead projects through conceptual and detailed design, procurement, construction support, commissioning, and closeout
- Develop and manage Engineering Work Plans
- Lead Engineering Design Reviews and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Coordinate engineering activities among AEP teams, developers, architects/engineers, OEMs, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders
- Schedule and lead engineering meetings
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and direction to engineers
- Provide regular engineering progress updates to project teams and stakeholders
- Support construction and facilitate project closeout activities
- Travel to AEP generation facilities, including occasional overnight trips
- Analyze complex problems, risks, options, and uncertain inputs to support project decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or acceptable alternative qualifications
- Engineer SG7: 2 or more years of related engineering experience
- Engineer Senior SG8: 4 or more years of related engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or 2 years with a master's degree or PhD
- Engineer Principal SG9: 8 or more years of related engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6 years with a master's degree or PhD
- Engineering Technology bachelor's degree candidates must obtain a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license
- PE registration preferred or encouraged; required for Principal unless waived by the organization's EVP
- Mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred
- Experience overseeing multi-discipline engineering work preferred
- Travel 25% outside of Ohio within the AEP footprint during the construction phase
- Ability to work onsite in Shreveport, Louisiana, Kenova, West Virginia, or Columbus, Ohio
