Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking a Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer to join the Power Source Production and Test Department onsite. You will design and support product acceptance testers, and contribute to experimental lab research and testing of power sources for national security applications.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5 years of experience, with the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and 5 years of directly relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design and support product acceptance testers (custom and commercial equipment) and related electronic systems.
• Aid in experimental lab research and testing of power sources for NW purposes.
• Deliver results and report findings to team members and project partners.
• Travel to production sites across the country for tester certification or maintenance.
• Develop technical documentation such as drawings, work instructions, tests plans, and manuals.
