Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer, Platform Services, to design and evolve the Disney streaming platform services layer. You will build end-to-end architecture for API gateway, authentication, rate limiting, tracing, and observability, enabling 400+ engineering teams across Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu.

You will operate at executive IC level, driving technical direction, mentoring engineers, and delivering scalable platform capabilities that reduce time-to-market

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with leadership of platform/infrastructure services
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and platforms such as API gateways, service mesh, tracing and observability
• Hands-on experience with service-to-service authentication, zero-trust networking, and identity federation
• Experience building platform services used by large engineering organizations

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and own technical architecture and core software components for Disney’s platform services layer
• Lead reliability, performance, and operations engineering for global systems
• Mentor engineers and influence platform strategy and roadmap across multiple teams
