Job summary

Disney Streaming is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to drive architecture and technical strategy across front and back end teams in Florida. You will coordinate with engineering leaders to define simple enterprise solutions, design scalable systems, and guide multi-disciplinary delivery for Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and Star+.

Lead a team in developing APIs (GraphQL/OpenAPI), deploying production systems, and shaping customer-focused products.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of consumer programs experience and 2+ years in principal architecture.
• Experience developing and reviewing APIs (GraphQL, OpenAPI).

Responsibilities

• Champion technical tasks across multiple software disciplines.
• Collaborate with technical leads, directors, and VPs to formulate architecture, delivery, and execution of product capabilities.
• Unify customer and service groups on scalable solutions that strengthen resilient consumer experience.
• Act as connective tissue among disparate viewpoints, driving consensus under tight deadlines.
• Partner on technical proposals, architecture, and documentation such as writing technical proposals and integration specifications.
• Produce specified technical documentation and engage in peer reviews.
• Specify new services or updates to existing offerings to support new initiatives and product features.
• Respond swiftly to production issues and provide root cause analyses.
