Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a software engineer for the Event Platform team in Seattle, WA. This onsite role four days a week will help design and scale data pipelines powering Disney’s streaming and analytics platforms.

You will own features from conception to deployment, collaborating with product and data teams to deliver high-throughput, low-latency services. The role values leadership, mentorship, and strong communication as you build observability, reliability, and innovative

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience building and scaling production-grade software in Java.
Strong observability skills: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
Experience owning the full software development lifecycle and shipping.
Excellent leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to leverage AI tools to boost productivity.

Responsibilities

Lead design and architecture of high-scale services and observability platforms.
Manage complex projects with clear technical roadmaps and milestones.
Own the full software development lifecycle: deployment, monitoring, and on-call.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and guidance.
Collaborate with product, client, and data platform teams on architectural decisions.
Deliver prototypes and PoCs for complex technical proposals.
