Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer – Operational Technology in our Nutrition Manufacturing Technology team. You will lead IT/OT convergence for the global manufacturing network, develop governance standards, and drive real-time data visualization initiatives.

You’ll provide technical leadership on major projects, modernize legacy systems, and influence senior leadership while traveling up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in OT/IT engineering, with familiarity to ISA standards.
• Experience presenting to plant staff through senior leadership.
• Healthcare/nutrition/pharma industry background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IT/OT convergence roadmap for global manufacturing, coordinating with multiple functions.
• Set governance standards for manufacturing asset structures and secure data collection.
• Create a global real-time data visualization and reporting strategy.
• Provide technical leadership on Front End Planning for major projects.
• Devise innovative solutions using IoT, dashboards, SCADA, asset management and databases.
• Communicate with senior leadership to justify solutions; mentor others.
• Support global production networks and drive continuous improvement.
• Modernize legacy control systems and lead organizational change.
• Lead data governance for manufacturing systems and 21 CFR Part 11 validation.
• Travel 25%–50% as needed.
