Job summary
Abbott is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer – Operational Technology in Columbus, OH. You will develop and support manufacturing data systems, partner with IT/Operations, and drive cross-functional capital projects to modernize the production landscape.
You will implement governance, validate software for 21 CFR Part 11, and collaborate with process experts to deliver compliant, scalable solutions across the Nutrition division.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or closely related discipline, or equivalent technical experience with 8+ years in IT/engineering/operations.
- Demonstrated competence in manufacturing IT systems and cross-functional project delivery.
- Experience integrating MES, data historians, visualization, and reporting in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and support manufacturing operations data systems (hardware and software).
- Define regional standards and governance for implementation and system operations.
- Coordinate with IT and operations to integrate MES and data reporting systems.
- Lead validation of manufacturing software per 21 CFR Part 11 and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with process SMEs to ensure effective auditing and reporting strategies.
