Job summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Microelectronics Engineer to support SMT manual assembly for Space at SALT in Elkridge, MD. The role acts as technical authority across manufacturing, hardware, and test, ensuring compliant processes and continuous improvement.
You'll lead design producibility reviews, develop work instructions, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. A strong background in complex circuit card manufacturing and IPC/MIL-STDs is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM with 8+ years in Manufacturing/Process Engineering or a Master's with 6+ years.
- Proficiency with MS Office and manufacturing environments.
- US Citizenship required.
Responsibilities
- Design and Engineering: ensure sound processes for development, production, test and sustainment.
- Factory Support: develop assembly work instructions and ensure IPC/MIL-STDs compliance.
- Process Development: create and manage plans for process improvements and equipment.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration and drive data-driven continuous improvement.
