Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead project execution in the Long Beach/Monrovia area. You will mentor engineers, develop technical solutions, and ensure safe, efficient project outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.

This role requires 8+ years in petrochemical/refinery settings, strong English communication, and experience with refinery specifications. Travel to vendor facilities may be required; salary ranges are commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of theories, practices, and accepted office procedures.
• Typically, minimum of 8 years of Engineering experience in Petroleum-Chemical Industry.
• 5 years in Mechanical equipment or packaged equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Refinery specifications experience.
• Additional experience in the Power industry, Carbon Capture, or Arctic environment is valued.
• Knowledge of API, ANSI, NEMA, ASTM specifications.

Responsibilities

• The candidate will work within a team framework of other disciplines and will understand the broad organizational implications of the work being performed.
• Will be updating schedules and progress reports.
• May be asked to generate budgets for new work.
• Will be interfacing with Project Management and the Customers regularly.
• Will be required to develop/check specifications, data sheets, technical bids, purchase orders, resolve technical queries from vendors on various equipment, able to coordinate project requirements with other disciplines, project staff and clients.
• Will be required to maintain quality deliverables throughout the procurement of the equipment.
• Will be required to support work share activities with overseas offices on Equipment deliverables.
• Will be required to develop/support hour estimation, TIC estimates, deliverable requirements and personnel loading for the Rotating Engineering scope of the project.
• Able to support or fill in for the Mechanical lead as requested.
