Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for its Monrovia or Long Beach offices in California. You will lead the Materials Handling Engineering Group, guiding multidisciplinary project execution and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Bring 8+ years in petrochemical/refining, expertise with rotating equipment, API standards, and strong English communication. On-site work with potential vendor interfaces and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• 15+ years in petrochemical and refining with project design, execution, construction (preferred).
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution and discipline deliverables across multidisciplinary projects.
• Develop/check specifications, data sheets, technical bids, and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with Project Management and customers regularly.
• Interface with vendors to resolve technical queries on compressors and pumps equipment.
• Maintain quality deliverables throughout equipment procurement.
• Support work share activities with overseas offices on rotating equipment deliverables.
• Develop/support hour estimation, TIC estimates, and resource loading for rotating engineering scope.
• May fill in as Mechanical lead as required.
