Job summary

Northrop Grumman, within the Armament Systems unit, seeks a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing at the Independence, MO site. The role covers current product manufacturing, new product transition, and testing of medium caliber ammunition.

Responsibilities include interfacing with customers, supporting program management, and guiding manufacturing teams across disciplines to ensure timely, cost-effective production and readiness reviews. US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with extensive experience in design/manufacturing.
• Ability to guide major projects and provide team leadership and coordination.
• Strong communication with customers, program management, and engineering management.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical interface to customers and internal/external stakeholders.
• Support PM as control account manager for schedule and cost tracking.
• Provide engineering guidance to manufacturing and test locations.
• Resolve manufacturing process issues across machining, finishing, painting, heat treating, assembly, and testing.
