Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer for the Power/Control Systems team at the Sykesville, MD facility. The role focuses on developing and maintaining manufacturing processes for advanced electronics used in national security and non-defense applications.

The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with manufacturing, test, and design engineering, be self-directed, organized, and team oriented, and possess a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM area with 5+ years of experience or Master’s with 3+ years (Principal).
• Experience in MS Office software applications.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering support role.
• Experience with developing new processes in a cross-functional team.
• 3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develop new or improved manufacturing processes with a focus on affordability.
• Lead Manufacturing Readiness Review for new design efforts.
• Provide ROI justification for process improvements.
• Create and manage project plans for process development activities.
• Create and document designs for tooling using CAD and PLM software.
• Specify, identify and procure manufacturing equipment for production readiness.
• Develop and optimize process parameters and documentation.
• Support with training and operations materials.
