Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer in Roy, UT to contribute to Advanced Programs Missile Subsystems, focusing on conceptual design, technology maturation and system integration for future deterrence needs. Qualifications

• 8 years with BS, 6 years with MS, 4 years with PhD.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application, ability to obtain Top Secret.
• Minimum 2 years in design/manufacturing/test engineering.
• Experience with DoD weapon system support system conceptual and preliminary design, cost vs. capability trade studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical contributions to Advanced Programs Missile Subsystem team for conceptual and preliminary design and technology maturation.
• Develop design concepts for launcher capsule and provide oversight for avionics and airframe design.
• Contribute to trade studies, architecture development, and system engineering to meet performance, cost, schedule and risk thresholds.
• Demonstrate ethics and integrity while innovating beyond traditional approaches.
• Collaborate across Division and Suppliers to accomplish team goals.
• Conceptualize and mature new business for growth of the Division.
• Transition innovative solutions for US strategic deterrence programs to programs of record.
