Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Senior Principal Facilities & Project Engineer to support a new manufacturing facility in Goochland County, Virginia. You will lead capital projects from scope through execution, partnering with Operations, Quality and Engineering to meet GMP and EHS requirements.

The role emphasizes project leadership, contractor management, and reliable facility systems knowledge to enable startup into GMP manufacturing operations while maintaining safety and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Civil).
• 5+ years in Facility or Maintenance Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years in Project Management/ Capital Project Delivery.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project delivery for facilities and utilities systems ($5M–$10M).
• Partner with Maintenance and Operations on facility system needs and metrics.
• Manage full project lifecycle: meetings, schedules, budgets, contractor mgmt, stakeholder comms.
• Meet with plant customers to gather project needs and align plans.
• Oversee contractors to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget execution per GMP/EHS.
• Apply knowledge of clean utility systems to inform design and sequencing.
• Participate in meetings and surface risks and resourcing needs to leadership.
• Support reliability and preventive maintenance planning across facilities.
