Job summary

Lilly is constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for API bioconjugates and mAb in Goochland County, VA. The Sr. Principal Associate – Environmental leads environmental programs, regulatory compliance, and startup readiness to support GMP operations.

The role requires a strong background in environmental engineering, GMP experience, and the ability to collaborate across functions to ensure safety and compliance as the site builds its capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental/chemical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a GMP-regulated environment.
• Experience applying environmental regulations and developing environmental programs.
• Experience interfacing with HSE-related regulatory agencies.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the environmental readiness plan for the Lilly Richmond facility as part of the HSE team.
• Shape environmental design decisions, startup plans, and compliance with project deliverables.
• Develop and roll out environmental programs, procedures, tools, and management systems with training and onboarding.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to govern change and ensure safe startup.
• Coordinate internal and external regulatory reporting in a timely manner.
