Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Digital Engineer to develop, enhance and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. The role may be based in Linthicum, MD or Morrisville, NC—with a focus on digital design, firmware, and integration within a DoD context.

The candidate will apply VHDL and FPGA tooling to deliver secure, high-performance solutions, collaborate across teams, and participate in an enterprise digital transformation initiative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering (BSCE) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related STEM Degree.
• Experience with VHDL programming and FPGA tooling.
• Strong ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, verification, simulation and testing of FPGAs.
• Develop test plans and validation for digital designs.
• Lead on-site testing and support Systems Integration and Test operations.
• Manage design constraints and perform static timing analysis.
