Job description

Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architect

Location: Melbourne, Florida.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Clearance required for start: Yes. Clearance type: Secret.

Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to create conceptual data models and data flows.
  • Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Review modifications of existing systems for cross‑compatibility.
  • Implement data strategies and develop physical data models.
  • Coach team members on developing the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the model.
  • Perform systems requirements analysis.
  • Manage requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation.

Basic Qualifications (Sr Principal Level)
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Master of Science in a STEM discipline with at least 6 years of related professional/military experience.
  • STEM Ph.D. with at least 4 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Experience developing model‑based systems engineering products and/or mission engineering.
  • Experience modeling software systems and system‑of‑systems.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g., Cameo Suite) and agile frameworks.
  • Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with modeling and simulation.
  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment.
  • Experience integrating complex systems across multiple domains.
  • Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers.
  • Experience with CAMEO large‑scale vehicle development.
  • Experience developing DODAF view artifacts, especially operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like CAMEO.
