Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. (ENERCON) is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Federal Services Group in support of DOE fronts, including nuclear waste cleanup, next-gen nuclear research, and projects supporting America’s nuclear deterrent.

The role is located in Aiken, SC, with about 10% travel and a focus on design to field execution. You'll lead cross-disciplinary teams, perform engineering calculations, develop procurement specs, and ensure construction aligns with drawings and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of design engineering experience with calculations, drawings and reports.
• Experience producing procurement and construction specifications.
• Participation in project meetings and field walkdowns; mentoring junior engineers.
• Construction administration oversight and liaison between owner, engineers and contractors.
• Strong writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to contribute as an individual and in teams.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• DOE design engineering project familiarity preferred.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-disciplinary collaboration, guiding projects from design to field execution.
• Oversee the technical coordination of multi-discipline engineering projects.
• Prepare design studies, scopes, and engineering estimates.
• Develop equipment procurement specs, evaluate bids, and select equipment.
• Perform engineering calculations and solve complex problems.
• Travel for client interfacing, walkdowns, field installation support, and startup.
• Lead teams with a positive attitude to achieve project goals aligned with ENERCON's standards.
