Job summary

Atlassian seeks a Senior Principal Engineer to own the Growth Monetization architecture and platforms in a fully remote USA/Canada role aligned to Pacific Time. You will drive technical strategy, shape product direction across teams, and mentor senior engineers to raise engineering quality and productivity.

Lead large-scale distributed systems initiatives, manage experimentation platforms, and partner with Product teams to optimize customer experiences and revenue outcomes at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 12+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
• 4+ years of experience providing architectural oversight and technical leadership.
• Experience shaping technical direction across teams and influencing architecture and product strategy.
• Extensive experience with SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and public clouds (AWS/GCP).
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical evolution and long-term architecture of the Growth Monetization services, customer experiences and experimentation platforms
• Collaborate across Product teams defining forward roadmaps for multiple teams driving customer success
• Maintain high standards of Operational Excellence in Growth Monetization platforms and services for performance, reliability, observability and data safety and security.
• Continually raise technical standards through reviews, investigations, incidents and problem solving, mentoring Principal and Senior Engineers
• Lead technical experimentation strategies across multiple teams driving product and engineering approaches
