Job summary

Atlassian is hiring for a senior full stack engineer based in the Pacific Time zone or aligned regions. The role emphasizes technical leadership, large-scale system design, and collaboration across engineering teams. You will mentor junior staff and help shape engineering standards and practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in full stack development with languages like JavaScript, React, Java, Kotlin, or Node (or similar).
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong preference for candidates located in or aligned with the Pacific Time (PT) zone.
• Deep experience in systems engineering at scale with testing, reliability, security, and observability.
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms; ability to explain complex technical issues to varied audiences.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Customer impact consideration when making technical decisions.
• Familiarity with A/B testing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Regularly tackle the largest and most complex problems from design to launch.
• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects and plan attacks on large projects.
• Address complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards.
• Raise the technical bar and evangelize high standards across Atlassian.
• Partner with Engineering teams on company-wide initiatives across multiple projects.
• Share knowledge and best engineering practices to improve excellence.
• Mentor and grow the next generation of technical leaders at Atlassian.
