Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to join its Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) organization. You will serve as the technical authority for the engine lubrication system, providing leadership across requirements, modeling, validation, risk retirement, and mentoring a small engineering team.

You will lead system-level requirements, develop fluid-flow models, guide analyses, perform risk mitigation, and present results to engineering leadership and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field with 10 years of experience, or an advanced degree with 7 years.
• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, modeling, and leadership roles for complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level requirements and interfaces for engine lubrication systems across development lifecycles.
• Develop, execute, and validate steady-state and transient fluid-flow models using Dymola, Easy5, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools.
• Lead a small technical team through design reviews, validation, and data analysis to meet program milestones.
• Identify risks, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive mitigation strategies to closure.
• Mentor engineers, improve analytical methods, and present findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Travel up to 10% domestically.
