RTX seeks a Principal Transmissions Engineer to lead gear design, analysis, and integration within the MSEN Transmissions team. You will drive technical leadership, mentor engineers, and manage full lifecycle testing for aerospace propulsion gear systems.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field with 8 years of gear design and analysis experience, or an Advanced degree with 5 years of gear design and analysis experience.
• At least 3 years of direct experience working with complex Mechanical Systems hardware with expertise in gear design and manufacturing tools.

Aufgaben

• Lead multidisciplinary teams to tackle MSEN transmissions’ top technical issues and integrate gearbox designs.
• Perform design and analysis on aerospace hardware across gear types using automated tools, FEA, and hand calculations.
• Direct root cause investigation teams and present findings to engineering leadership.
• Review team members’ work and mentor less experienced engineers to accelerate proficiency.
• Coordinate requirements of external suppliers and align design ownership across vendors.
• Lead full lifecycle testing programs including rig development, test plans, instrumentation, and data reporting.
• Advance gear manufacturing readiness and improve analytical tools and training materials.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
