Job summary

Northrop Grumman–Xetron in Cincinnati, OH is seeking cleared Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineers to lead development of sensor, communication, and cyber systems onsite.

You will drive requirements through test, mentor engineers, and tackle next‑gen EW and SIGINT applications with a strong cross‑disciplinary team. Candidates should have BS or higher in engineering or related fields, plus strong C/C++ and embedded skills; DoD Top Secret clearance is required with sponsorship possible.

Qualifications

• BS in science/engineering or related field with 8 years of experience; or 6 years with MS; or 4 years with PhD.
• Technical leadership experience of small teams (3+ engineers).
• Experience with C, C++, and embedded assembly (ARM, PIC, AVR).
• Experience with embedded development environments (Xilinx SDK, Code Composer Studio, IAR, GCC).
• Experience with embedded debugging and analysis tools (JTAG, GDB, logic analyzers).
• Experience with scripting (Python, Bash); full lifecycle from requirements to release.
• Familiar with version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) and Agile tools (Jira, Rally).
• US Citizenship is required and ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of sensor, communication, and cyber systems onsite in Cincinnati, OH.
• Guide multi-disciplinary teams through requirements, design, implementation, integration, and test.
• Tackle advanced waveform processing, DSP interests, and SDR/GNU Radio platform exposure.
