Northrop Grumman – Xetron in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of sensor, communication, and cyber systems on site. The role requires strong C/C++ skills, embedded expertise, and the ability to work across full lifecycle activities in a fast-paced, defense-focused environment.

Applicants must be US citizens and able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance; relocation may be considered.

Qualifications

• BS in science/engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience; or MS with 10+ years; or PhD with 7+ years.
• Technical leadership experience of small teams (3+ engineers).
• Experience with C, C++, and embedded assembly (ARM, PIC, AVR).
• Experience with embedded development environments (Xilinx SDK, Code Composer Studio, IAR, GCC).
• Experience with embedded debugging / analysis tools (JTAG, GDB, USB/logic analyzers).
• Experience with Python and scripting languages.
• Experience with full lifecycle from requirements to release.
• Familiarity with Git-based VCS and Agile planning tools (Jira, Rally).
• US Citizenship is required; DoD Top Secret clearance ability (sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Lead development of sensor, communication, and cyber systems onsite in Cincinnati.
• Oversee requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Collaborate on multi-disciplinary program teams delivering next-gen solutions.
• Support secure, high-assurance software for intelligence customers.
