Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) seeks a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer - Networks to lead design and modernization of secure, scalable enterprise networks for the MQ-4C Triton program. On-site with potential hybrid work and up to 10% travel, supporting advanced avionics and communications infrastructure.
The role requires top-tier network expertise, DoD clearance, and strong collaboration with stakeholders to deliver robust, secure networking solutions
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
- Bachelor’s or higher in a STEM field with 8+ years of related engineering experience, or Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
- Experience with airborne networks, tactical links and satellite communications including BLOS/LOS links.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and securing Cisco network devices.
- Familiar with IPv4, BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, subnetting and related protocols.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support network infrastructure components (Routers/Switches/Firewalls).
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams and standards.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network issues.
- Conduct trade studies and document subsystem architectures, analyze performance, evaluate TRLs.
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate network solutions.
