Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer to design analog and digital hardware for fire alarm products at our Westford, MA facility. You will lead hardware development, including embedded systems, power, sensors, and networking, ensuring alignment with specifications, schedules, and costs.

The role requires onsite presence three days per week and collaboration across global teams to deliver innovative solutions while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years in electronics design involving analog, power, audio or embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of discrete components and circuit design.
• Experience with CAD tools for schematic capture and simulation.
• Ability to collaborate in a global, cross-functional team.
• Experience transitioning products to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze analog and digital electronics, including embedded systems.
• Lead hardware product development; ensure specs, schedules, cost targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products to production.
• Oversee both component- and system-level design, packaging, and architecture.
• Guide regulatory certifications (UL/ULC/CE/FCC) for products.
