Johnson Controls in Westford, MA is seeking a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer to design analog and digital hardware for new fire alarm products and support existing lines. The role includes embedded systems, power electronics, and sensor interfaces, with onsite presence three days per week.

You will lead hardware development, collaborate with product management and manufacturing, and ensure programs meet schedules, costs, and performance. Strong CAD skills and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of electronics design experience in analog, power, audio or embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of discrete components and circuit design.
• Experience with CAD tools for schematic capture and simulation.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects.
• Experience transitioning products from development to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital electronics, including embedded systems.
• Lead hardware product development with cost, schedule and performance targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to take products to production.
• Ensure regulatory certifications (UL, ULC, CE, FCC) are met.
• Mentor and lead engineering teams on projects.
