Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineers for our Nuclear Design Group. You will lead design studies, define project scopes, and mentor engineering teams across disciplines on complex nuclear projects.

The role requires a ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years (Senior) or 10+ years (Principal) of electrical design experience, plus US citizenship.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years designing electrical systems (high voltage, switchgear, motor controls).
• 10+ years for Principal level position.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• PE preferred.
• Strong written/presentation/communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• US Citizenship required.
• Approx. 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across disciplines: bridge engineering teams for seamless coordination.
• Shape project success: develop design studies, define scopes, and create accurate estimates.
• Procurement & installation: draft specs, evaluate bids, and select suitable solutions.
• Perform essential electrical calculations for designs and installations.
• Think creatively and push projects forward with innovative solutions.
• Be hands-on in the field: travel to sites, walkdowns, and support start-up activities.
• Lead and inspire teams with motivational leadership.
