Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to build a data processing unit platform spanning networking and storage. You will own major subsystems, define boundaries, and drive integration and performance across teams.

You will mentor engineers, shape data path decisions, and ensure production readiness while collaborating with both storage and networking experts. A strong C/C++ and Linux background is essential.

Competenze

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in systems or infrastructure software, including substantial hands-on experience building high-performance storage data paths or networking data paths.
• Demonstrated technical ownership of a major subsystem spanning multiple components and engineering teams, from ambiguous requirements through production integration.
• Deep expertise in either storage data path architecture, implementation, and optimization, or networking data path architecture, implementation, and optimization.
• Strong hands-on C or C++ expertise and deep knowledge of Linux, synchronization, memory management, multicore architectures, and performance analysis.
• Working familiarity with the complementary domain: networking fundamentals and transport behavior for storage specialists, or storage I/O architecture and behavior for networking specialists.

• Own subsystem architecture and outcomes. Turn ambiguous requirements into an architecture, contracts, and a phased delivery plan.
• Shape foundational data path decisions across host, DPU software, firmware, and hardware.
• Lead delivery across component owners and guide implementation through engineers while debugging critical paths.
• Set end-to-end performance expectations with budgets and targets for throughput, tail latency, and efficiency.
• Connect storage and networking architecture to evaluate I/O processing, transport, ordering, buffering, and recovery tradeoffs.
• Own integration and production readiness with interfaces, observability, fault isolation, and safe upgrade behavior.
• Develop component owners by mentoring engineers in architectural judgment and debugging.
