Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Storage Infrastructure team seeks hands-on engineers to scale a block storage data plane. As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will own design and development for core I/O path components, collaborating across stack, with a focus on reliability and performance.

Required: 5+ years building large-scale distributed systems, strong C++ and Python, deep knowledge of data structures, networking, and storage tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
• Extensive experience developing clean code in C++ and scripting languages such as Python.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, I/O paths, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of block storage systems and distributed persistence technologies.
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure, data management

Responsibilities

• Own the software design and development for major components of the Block Storage Service Infrastructure.
• Code primarily in C++ with attention to reliability and performance in a distributed data path.
• Collaborate across teams to design scalable, low-latency storage solutions.
• Diagnose issues in production environments and optimize system behavior.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and implementation of core storage features.
