Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Lead Principal Software Engineer to architect and build highly scalable, distributed systems for global networks. You will mentor teams, drive architecture decisions, and lead initiatives across engineering, operations, and vendor teams to enhance reliability, performance, and security.

You will shape data plane platforms, design elastic systems, and implement robust replication, telemetry, and incident response practices while advancing innovation

Responsibilities

• Mentor the team in the architecture of highly scalable, interdependent distributed systems.
• Lead the identification of performance and scalability bottlenecks and recommend solutions to optimize code and/or systems for large-scale data processing and high-throughput requirements.
• Lead collaboration with stakeholders to define system scalability requirements, ensuring they meet customer expectations.
• Design high-impact, interdependent systems to scale with elasticity.
• Drive innovation in data plane platforms and automation (IaC).
• Oversee fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable designs and implement robust recovery strategies.
• Develop dashboards, telemetry, and alerting to ensure system health and reliability.
