Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Senior Principal Data Scientist to design and build agentic AI and ML solutions across employer‑intelligence and real‑world‑evidence initiatives. You will own the AI reasoning layer end to end, framing problems, designing multi‑agent workflows, and measuring performance.

You will collaborate with diverse teams to test hypotheses, ensure governance, and deliver reusable capabilities that scale across projects.

Qualifications

• PhD with 4+ years of AI/ML production experience.
• Master’s with 6+ years of AI/ML production experience.
• Bachelor’s with 8+ years of AI/ML production experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic AI systems and multi-agent workflows across employer and real-world evidence domains.
• Develop evaluation frameworks including groundedness, hallucination, and uncertainty estimation with human-in-the-loop review.
• Lead model development, governance, and distillation of small specialized models.
• Apply prompt engineering, retrieval augmented generation, embeddings, and knowledge graphs to ground AI reasoning.
