Job summary

Lilly USA Technology at Lilly is seeking a Senior Principal Data Scientist to design agentic AI and machine learning solutions across our employer-access and real-world-evidence initiatives. You will work with internal business and Technology at Lilly partners to solve complex, high-volume problems with intelligent, autonomous, and measurable AI systems that scale horizontally across use cases.

Qualifications

• PhD with 4+ years developing, deploying, or maintaining AI/ML/data systems in production.
• Master’s with 6+ years developing, deploying, or maintaining AI/ML/data systems in production.
• Bachelor’s with 8+ years developing, deploying, or maintaining AI/ML/data systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex data and develop predictive and generative models.
• Own the AI reasoning layer end to end from problem framing to evaluation.
• Build reusable, horizontal AI capabilities across teams and use cases.
• Design agentic AI systems with agent-to-agent orchestration and autonomous reasoning loops.
• Develop evaluation frameworks including groundedness, hallucination measures, and regression testing.
• Translate business problems into solvable AI problems and communicate insights to stakeholders.
